Gerard (“Jerry”) Carino, 87, of Danbury, beloved husband of Rose (DeVito) Carino, died peacefully at Laurel Ridge Nursing Home in Ridgefield on Sunday, June 30. He was born in Port Chester, N.Y., on November 2, 1925, son of the late Gerardo and Isabel Carino. In addition to his wife of almost 60 years, Mr Carino is survived by his three children, Joseph Carino and his wife Lisa of Newtown, Gerri Petruccelli and her husband Nino of Ridgefield, and Marie Cholko and her husband Robert, also of Ridgefield; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren
Joseph E. Yanzo, Jr., age 71, of Newtown passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 30, surrounded by all of his children after a hard fought battle with Leukemia. He is survived by his daughter, Christine Bojarczyk and her husband Rick of Danbury; his son, Joseph E. Yanzo III of Torrington; his stepdaughters Dawn Maestro-Blom and her husband Jeff, and Debbie Maestro-Barrigas, all of Thomaston; a sister, Elaine Dwyer of Shelton; his six grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Robert Stephen Staudinger, 74, husband of Joyce (Carey) Staudinger, of Sandy Hook died peacefully on Saturday, June 29, at his home surrounded by his family after a two year courageous battle of cancer.
Albert E. “Buddy” Minck, Jr, 90, of Bradenton, Fla. and Newtown, and previously of Danbury, died peacefully at his Newtown home, June 24, surrounded by his family. He was born November 24, 1922, in Danbury, son of Lucy (Carmody) and Albert E. Minck, Sr.
Emery James Vajda, 52, of Derby, died June 23, at Griffin Hospital, after losing his battle with cancer. Born in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Imre and Violet Augusztin Vajda. He was the loving husband of Patricia Waterbury Vajda.
John Francis Feeley, 79, of Largo, Fla., will be laid to rest July 9, 2013, at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Trinity, Florida. Mr Feeley died at Largo Medical Center, on March 20. He was a resident of Newtown from the 1970s through the 1990s.
Emmett Driscoll, 76, of Fleischmanns, N.Y., and previously of New York City, died peacefully, June 22, at his daughter’s home in Sandy Hook. He was born April 20, 1937, in New York, son of Timothy and Mildred Driscoll.
