Art & Frame Gallery has traditionally hosted an exhibition of works by art students completing the first year of their MFA studies at Western Connecticut State University.

Although the frame shop and gallery relocated from Danbury to Newtown earlier this year, the tradition highlighting work by the Danbury university’s students continues.

Art & Frame is hosting the fifth annual “first years” through June 29. Works by six MFA candidates who plan to receive their degrees in 2020 — Stephanie Dee, Jennifer Olvera, Brian McCarley, Amanda Megill, Hannah Hurricane Sanchez, and Wing Wong — has been on display since May 25.

The public is invited to join the artists for an opening reception on Saturday, June 1, from 5 to 7 pm, at Art & Frame, 77 Main Street. Refreshments will be served, and live music will be performed.

For additional information, contact the gallery at 203-748-0197.

The public is invited to join WCSU Masters of Fine Arts candidates for the opening reception of "first years," an exhibition of works by the art students, at Art & Frame Gallery on Saturday, June 1.
