Jean A. Leonard, 46, of Newtown, wife of the late Michael Leonard, died December 28, in Danbury Hospital. She was born September 2, 1969, and was the daughter of the late James and Carol (Fulton) Moore.

Ms Leonard earned an undergraduate degree from Southern Connecticut State University, and a MBA from Sacred Heart University. She was chairwoman of the Newtown Economic Development Commission and the Newtown Ski Club, as well as numerous community and non-profit organizations.

She was a loving mother to her three children, Meghan, Zachary, and Courtney, all of Newtown.

In addition to her children, one brother, James A. Moore, Jr and his wife, Kelly White, of Redding; a sister, Jennifer Means and her husband, Graeme, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews survive Ms Leonard.

The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport, Sunday, January 3, from 2 to 6 pm. Friends are invited to attend a funeral Monday, January 4, at 11 am, meeting directly at Christ and Holy Trinity Church, 75 Church Lane, Westport. Interment will be private.
