In an effort to help foster business opportunities in the greater Newtown area, the Newtown Chamber of Commerce continues to host free monthly networking events open to all local business professionals.

The next event will be held at Sal e Pepe Contemporary Italian Bistro on Wednesday, January 8, from 8 to 9 am. The guest speaker is Rebecca Flynn of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut (BBBS). Ms Flynn’s presentation is titled “Start Something Big with Big Brothers Big Sisters,” and will include ideas on how individuals and companies can make a positive impact this year by partnering with BBBS and support mentoring in the community.

Light refreshments will be served. There is no charge to attend this event and reservations are not necessary. The restaurant is at 97 South Main Street in Newtown.

Monthly breakfast networking sessions sponsored by the Newtown Chamber of Commerce are held on the second Wednesday of each month. Those interested in guest speaking can contact Tricia Farin at 203-426-9193.
