St Rose of Lima School students have been keeping busy, according to the school’s Director of Mission Advancement Laura Moulder.

After students returned to the school in January, the Art/Religion Class celebrated the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6 with the kindergarten students creating Advent Angel gifts to exchange; first grade students placed straws outside “for the camels” and discussed the significance of the gifts brought by the three Kings; and fifth grade students painted scenes.

Transitional kindergarten students at the school recently made gingerbread houses.

Sixth and eighth grade students took midterms the week of January 3 to 7.

And in other St Rose of Lima School news, it is running a $10,000 Tuition Raffle, the winnings of which can be applied toward tuition for any kindergarten to twelfth grade accredited school, college, or university in the United States or to help pay back student loans.

The drawing is Sunday, January 30, at 1:30 pm and the winner must be present. Tickets can be purchased by calling the school weekdays, 8:30 am to 2 pm, 203-426-5102, or e-mailing raffle@srles.com.

Tickets will be on sale after masses at St Rose Church the weekends of January 15 and 16 and January 22 and 23, with masses held at 4 pm Saturday, and at 7:30 am, 9:30 am, 11:30 am, and 5 pm on Sunday. Proceeds from the raffle, after the prize, go to The St Rose School Blooms Fund.
