John "Johnny" Patrick Hallock, of Bethlehem, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, January 14, at the age of 55. Johnny was born June 13, 1965, in Danbury to Caryl Stratton of Woodbury and John Hallock of Bethlehem, both of whom survive him. He graduated from Lyndon Institute in Lyndon, Vt., in 1982.

Johnny was a very talented and passionate artist and metalworker. For 37 years, he practiced his craft of antique metal restoration with his father at their Bethlehem shop. Johnny also enjoyed painting, photography, music, reading, and writing. He could easily be found content with a book and some tunes any day.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by many loving friends and family members: his sisters Bridget Hallock-Tuttle and her husband, Jody, of Oxford, Sarah Killing-Drought and her husband, Hank, of Madison, and Sue Killing-Shortt and her husband, Jim, of Sandy Hook; and his brother, Micah Hallock of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews Jeremy and Shannon Tuttle, James and Jesse Shortt, and Jack and Daisy Drought.

Munson-Lovetere of Woodbury is in charge of arrangements. Due to COVID, no service is planned at this time. A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held later in the year at a place and time to be determined by the family.

Memorial donations in Johnny’s name may be made to First Church of Bethlehem, UCC, 21 Main Street South, Bethlehem CT 06751.
