The Zang Collection of art, photography, and gardening books continues to grow. Please come and check out these beautiful books which were given in appreciation of Joanne Zang by the Friends of the Library.

Donations are currently being accepted for the Labor Day Book Sale. Please leave your books on the cart near the Children’s Department. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

The Intermediate Internet class which was cancelled on January 22  has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 5, at 10:00 am in the meeting room.

A free beginning Internet class is scheduled for Saturday, February 12, from 10:00 - 12:00 pm.  Registration is required for this class.  Please call the library at 426-4533 to reserve a place.

Free income tax preparation help is available at the library every Tuesday afternoon beginning February 8 and running through April 11 from 1 to 5 pm. Ken Wilkinson is once again volunteering his services. Drop-ins are welcome.

Yoga with Ricky Ayers will be beginning again on February 10, at 4:45-6:15 pm in the meeting room, and will meet for four consecutive Thursdays. Please call Ricky directly at 262-8721. New members are always welcome.

Come in from the cold and enjoy some movies worth a second viewing. Booth Library Celebrates Great Movies That Were Great Books First! On February 11, the movie will be Breakfast at Tiffanys, a charming retelling of Truman Capote’s novel. On February 25, A River Runs Through It will be the feature.  Movies begin at 12:30 pm in the new meeting room and are always free.

Don’t miss the Newtown Historical Society’s presentation of Abraham Lincoln, A Family Play on Sunday, February 13 at 3 pm in the meeting room of the library.

Come learn about butterfly gardens on Tuesday, February 15 at 11 am. Carol Lemmon from the Connecticut Agriculture Experiment Station will give a slide presentation and talk on how to attract these soaring insects to your yard and garden. All are welcome to attend this free lecture. Refreshments will be served.

The Booth Book Discussion Group will be discussing Barbara Kingsolver’s Poisonwood Bible on Thursday, February 17 at 7:30 pm in Quiet Study.  You need not read the entire book to attend and new members are always welcome.
