Carolyn Mae (Bailwitz) Watson, 77, of Bethel, died January 22, with her husband at her side, at the Village at Brookfield Common. She was born May 16, 1934, in Norwalk, daughter of Julia (Szalai) and Clayton Bailwitz.
Besides her husband, Herbert, three sons, including Jeffrey Watson, and his wife Cory, of Newtown; and her five grandchildren survive Mrs Watson.
The Watsons raised their three sons in Bethel and lived there for more than 50 years. They enjoyed spending time with their family and friends and also enjoyed many activities together. She was a member of the Danbury Church of Christ for 30 years.
Mrs Watson had many talents and skills. In addition to her early career as an elementary teacher, she was a violinist, a nanny, a painter, and a rubber stamper. She worked with the Visiting Nurse Association as a home health aide, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Village at Brookfield Common and Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut for the loving care and kindness to Mrs Watson and her family throughout her courageous battle with Alzheimerâs disease.
There will be a memorial service Saturday, February 4, at 11 am, at the Danbury Church of Christ, 90 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury. A reception will follow the service. There are no calling hours. A private burial will be held at Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport.
