Delaware Valley College, Doylestown, Penn., has announced that Abbie Branchflower of Newtown has been honored for academic achievement by being named to the fall 2011 Dean's List.

Delaware Valley College, Doylestown, Penn., has announced that Abbie Branchflower of Newtown has been honored for academic achievement by being named to the fall 2011 Dean’s List.

Emily Loose of Newtown and Jonathan Zigman of Sandy Hook were among the more than 1,800 students of Wake Forest University, in Winston Salem, N.C., who made the fall Dean’s List.

Emily Elizabeth Korth of Newtown has been named to the President’s List at Clemson University, S.C., for the fall 2011 semester. Emily is majoring in visual arts at the university. To be named to the President’s List, a student must achieve a 4.0 grade point average.

William Northrop of Sandy Hook has been placed on the Gettysburg (Penn.) College Dean’s Honor List for outstanding academic achievement in fall 2011. Students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester’s work are placed on the College’s Dean’s Honor List.

Hannah Tenenbaum of Newtown has been placed on the Gettysburg College Dean’s Commendation List for outstanding academic achievement in the fall 2011 semester. GC students with a quality point average of 3.33 or higher for a semester’s work are placed on the college’s Dean’s Commendation List.

Allen Hubbard, a biology major, of Newtown. and Gabrielle Milano, an elementary education major, of Sandy Hook, were named to the fall 2011 Dean’s List at Saint Michael’s College, Colchester, Vt. Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the Dean’s List.

Marisa Kadar of Newtown, and Gabriella C. Ruggiero and Caitlin N. Tefft of Sandy Hook have been named to the President’s List for the fall 2011 semester at Western New England University, in Springfield, Mass. Students are named to the President’s List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher and the university.

Also at Western New England, Taylor Demirjian and Michael S. Poeltl of Newtown, and Rachael A. Marlin of Sandy Hook, were named to Western New England’s Dean’s List for the same semester. Students are named to the Dean’s List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.

Newtown residents Louis Raab, Christina Sampaio, Patricia Strasburger, and Anita Dilisio were named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2011 Semester at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. To receive this honor, a student must achieve a 3.6 grade average, based on a 4.0 scale.

The University of Hartford has announced Sarah Connor and Jonathan Savarese of Newtown, and Megan Keenan of Sandy Hook were named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2011 semester.

Stonehill College, in Easton, Mass., recently named Newtown resident Charlotte A. Manos, a member of the Class of 2012, to its Dean’s List for the fall 2011 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List at Stonehill, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

Springfield College, in Springfield, Mass., has named Nicole Reyen of Sandy Hook to the Dean’s List for academic excellence for the fall 2011 Term. Nicole is studying dance at the college.

Grace Hamilton of Newtown was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2011 semester at Bates College, in Lewiston, Maine. The distinction is given to students who earn a grade point average of 3.68 or higher.

Kylie Bivrell-Walsh graduated from Keene State College, in Keene, N.H, on December 17. Kylie was also named to the Dean’s List at the college for the fall 2011 semester. In order to achieve Dean’s List at the college, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and have neither failing grades or incompletes.

Alyssa Vetrano of Sandy Hook, a freshman at Northeastern University College of Science in Boston, has been named to the school’s Dean’s List for the 2011 fall semester. Students must maintain a GPA above 3.5, with no pass/fail classes and no grade below a C-, in addition to carrying a full academic course load. Alyssa is majoring in criminology and with a minor in psychology.

Alexandra Vetrano of Sandy Hook, a senior at Ohio State University College of Arts and Sciences, in Columbus, has been named to Dean’s List for autumn 2011. Students at OSU achieve this honor with a 3.5 or better GPA after completing a minimum of 12 graded credit hours. Alexandra is majoring in dance, with a minor in arts entrepreneurship.
