The Society of the Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) has received approval to hang its annual winter show at Newtown Municipal Center.

Following a pair of postponements, the show will be presented to the public weekdays from March 2 through April 30.

With the late start — the show traditionally runs in January and February — the show this year has been renamed “Color in Winter and into Spring.”

Receiving will be Monday, March 1, from 4 to 6 pm. The show is open to all SCAN members. Artists should deliver their artwork, wired for hanging, to the Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street. Artists must wear masks during delivery.

There is no charge to enter artwork in the show this year, and members can enter up to three works for this show. Registration should be done in advance. Artists are asked to send their name, phone number, list of titles being entered, and their price (or note NFS) so labels can be created ahead of receiving.

SCAN will receive 20 percent of each work’s sale price.

Additional information is available at scanart.org or by contacting show chair Adele Moros at 203-744-7690.

The public may view the collection Monday through Friday between 8 am and 4:30 pm. Pandemic guidelines will be enforced within the municipal building.

Due to the continuance of the COVID-19 pandemic, no public events are planned around this year’s exhibition.

“Lemon Grass” is a watercolor on Yupo by Adele Moros, who is chairing the winter-spring show and sale by members of The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown. Postponed from January and then February, the show will be on view at Newtown Municipal Center in March and April.
