Scholarship Available

The Sandy Hook Elementary School PTA announced applications for the group’s two $1,000 college scholarships are now available at Newtown High School and at Sandy Hook Elementary School. 

Requirements: The applicant must have attended Sandy Hook School, must be a graduating senior, and must be accepted to a post-high school academic program.

Applicants must complete a two-page scholarship form. The applicant must submit two letters of reference, one of which must be from a high school guidance counselor, teacher, or principal, and one from a nonrelative, such as a clergy member, employer, neighbor, or civic organization. The applicant must provide a school transcript, including a statement of class rank. The applicant must provide a letter of acceptance to a post-high school program. An interview may be required.

Applications must be received at Sandy Hook School by April 14 at 3 pm with the note “Attention: Cindy Carlson, Scholarship Chairperson.”
