Domenick Tramontozzi, senior, of Shelton, Connecticut, formerly of Newtown, Conn., and Bronx, N.Y., passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He was born March 29, 1966. Domenick Tramontozzi is survived by his mother, Viola, and father, Antonio Tramontozzi, along with his brother, Joseph, and two sons, Domenick Anthony, Jr, and Steven Joseph.

Domenick was a highly valued member of the North East Regional Council of Carpenters at the Western Connecticut Local 326 union hall. Growing up, Domenick was born in the Bronx, N.Y., but later became an Italian citizen after having been moved and attending high school in a small mountain town called Settefrati, Italy. In Italy he missed New York City and his father who was still in the states, so he moved back and asked his dad to take him to work where he began a career in design. Domenick and his father, Antonio, worked for Brooks Brothers and the company originally wanted to send him to college to study fashion and to become a clothing designer. It was this artistic and creative experience that led to him finding his passion for building. He was in the trade for over 30 years and with many of those years at the Carpenters Local Union 326. He was a tremendous builder, having built three homes for his family in Newtown and having worked on many commercial spaces and buildings in Southwestern Connecticut. Domenick brought his attention to detail from his experience in designing high-end clothing apparel to his trade and was truly talented and passionate about building.

He enjoyed fishing and boating on Lake Zoar, Candlewood Lake, Orchard Beach, and the Long Island Sound. He also loved the outdoors, the ocean, and preparing amazing meals on holidays and during summer cookouts with his family, friends, and especially his two sons who meant the entire world to him.

Domenick will be dearly missed by his two boys, his brother, and his parents. He was a much beloved family member, coworker, and friend to many in the greater Western Connecticut area.

A celebration of life will be held for Domenick on March, 18, 2023. The funeral service will begin at 11 am and will be held at Saint Rose of Lima Church at 46 Church Hill Road in Newtown, Conn. The service will be followed by a reception at Marketplace Kitchen at 32 Church Hill Road in Newtown. There will be a catered lunch and coffee, members of the Tramontozzi and Vitino families will be hosting and hope to see any friends and coworkers who would like to join us and pay their respects.

The Local 326 and CGM Acoustics were very important organizations to Domenick and he was very proud about his career there. His family wants to say thank you for being there for him and that his coworkers and union brothers were very much not just friends but family who he loved, and we thank you.
