Charles Paul “Chuck” Scheid died in Loleta, Calif., on March 15, 2020, at the age of 49. The cause of death was suicide. Charles dealt with mental health issues for a number of years. As best described by a friend, “He is now free of burdens we cannot comprehend, nor have we had to endure.” While the way he found his peace was profoundly tragic, it is comforting to the family to know he will suffer no more.

Charles was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Daniel C. and Mary Beth Scheid, on October 4, 1970. In addition to his parents, Charles is survived by his sisters, Anna Butler of Amherst, Mass., and Mary Clancy August of Princeton, New Jersey. Charles and his family were formerly residents of Sandy Hook.

Final arrangements were performed by Ayers Family Cremation of Eureka, Calif. Charles’ ashes were spread on Humboldt Bay, a beautiful location near his home.
