Marybeth Patterson

Marybeth Patterson, 74, of Sandy Hook, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on March 18.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Newell and Irene Finnerty, and sister in-law, Pat Finnerty.

She is survived by her best friend, Bud Fisher; her daughter, Sarah Swansiger, and her partner, David Hendricks; granddaughters, Lily and Abby; their father, Mark Swansiger; and her son, Josh Patterson, and his wife, Tara. Marybeth is also survived by her brothers, Jack Finnerty, Michael and Ethlyn Finnerty, and Jerry and Ann Finnerty; her sisters, Suzanne and Doug Ferrigno, and Patty and Paul Fazzio; nieces and nephews Jill and Fred Ferares, David and Kristina Finnerty, J.D Ferrigno, Al Lopez, Jenny and Greg Mirecki, Patrick Ferrigno, Paul and Adele Ferrigno, Rebecca and Michael Ferrigno-Ohm, Marybeth and Greg Sheppard, Kathy Ferrigno, Kevin and Megan Finnerty, Sean and Gladys Finnerty, Michael and Becky Finnerty, Jeffery and Jennifer Finnerty, and Marisa Finnerty; and countless grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Marybeth’s family was one of the most important things in her life, and she cherished all moments with them.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 25, from 4 to 7 pm at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown on Friday, March 26, at 10:30 am. Interment will be in St Mary’s Cemetery, Washingtonville, N.Y., at the convenience of the family.

    With our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy. Marybeth and I were classmates at St. John the Evangelist School and the Mahopac High School. I remember her as being as cute as a button having a very giving and kind heart. Such a sweet and generous person. May God hold her in His arms.
