Public Can Call To Hear March 26 Board of Education Special Meeting

Members of the public can call to hear discussion at a scheduled March 26 Board of Education special meeting, slated for 3 pm.

Information about the meeting on its agenda reads, “In consideration of public health, open meetings and the Governor’s Executive Order No. 7B dated March 10, 2020 regarding Protection of Public Health and Safety during COVID-19 Pandemic and Response — Further Suspension or Modification of Statutes, this meeting will include an option for the public to livestream or phone in to listen to the audio of the meeting. Please note that public comment will be received by phone at the beginning of this meeting. Alternatively, the board encourages the public to e-mail any comments for board consideration to NewtownBOE@newtown.k12.ct.us.

The agenda also specifies the meeting will be livestreamed online at bit.ly/2wCvBSC.

Topics on the agenda include an update on distance learning, an update on a “memorandum of understanding with bargaining units,” discussion and possible action on a transportation contract, and discussion of contracts with Whitsons Culinary Group and EdAdvance.
