William E. Nicholson, age 85, of Newtown died at home peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2020. Born in Medford, Mass., on September 13, 1934, he was the son of the late Earl and Molly Nicholson.

He graduated from Darien High School in 1953; attended the University of Maine, graduating with a BA in Forestry in 1957; served in the United States Army; and was a data processing manager for Perkin Elmer. Mr Nicholson also served as the Zoning Officer for the Town of Newtown. In retirement, Mr Nicholson enjoyed travel, golf, and woodworking and helped restore pieces for the Danbury Railway Museum.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Junis Nicholson; his three sons William, Clifford, and Ronald; his five grandchildren; and his sister, Nancy.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret and Barbara.

A celebration of life service will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be given in his memory to a charity of your choice.
