Matt Memoli, coach of the Newtown High School baseball team, will run two April vacation baseball academies for middle school and youth baseball players this month.

The Middle School Baseball Academy will prepare players for high school baseball. Players will participate in position-specific work and will learn the mechanics of base running, hitting, fielding, and situational game play.

The Youth Baseball Academy will teach players the basic fundamentals of hitting, fielding, throwing, and base running. All instruction will be provided by current NHS baseball coaches and players as well as area high school and college coaches.

Both academies run Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17 from 9 to 11 am. Cost is $200.
