The Chamber of Commerce of Newtown has announced its slate of events for the US Small Business Association's (SBA) National Small Business Week, which has honored the contributions of America's small business owners and entrepreneurs since 1963.

According to the SBA, "More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the US each year."

Local Chamber sponsored or supported Small Business Week activities include a session entitled "Boost Your Business With Facebook."

That session will be held Monday, April 30 at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, with 8:30 to 9 am networking and a 9 to 9:45 am presentation.

Facebook's Boost Your Business presentations promise to provide businesses around the country with the most up-to-date tools, insights, and best practices for growing business on Facebook and Instagram. This presentation will show attendees what is possible on Facebook to help take their business to the next level.

"We're very excited to announce the Facebook is coming to Newtown," said Helen Brickfield, the chamber's director of development.

Areas to be covered during the presentation include:

*Tools you can use: Learn about the tools available (Business Pages, Messenger, Instagram, and more) to help you connect with customers, manage your digital presence, and grow your business.

*Ads you can create: Whether you want to increase conversions on your website, drive more people into your store, build awareness of your brand, or something else - advertising on Facebook and Instagram can help you achieve your unique business goals.

*Ways to be creative: Behind every business is a story. Learn how to tell yours on Facebook and Instagram with just a phone, creative apps, and great lighting. Every business can create beautiful content and this presentation will show you how.

Facebook's Josh Abah is the scheduled presenter. Admission is $15 ($10 Chamber members), and includes a light breakfast, presentation, and photo booth. Reservations are required; click here for tickets.
