Hurricanes 1, Danbury 0 – Defenders Adelle Cerreta and Sarah Feinstein and midfielders Sarah Shannon and Cara Colacurcio dominated play and led the Hurricanes to the win. Kate Bowen scored the lone goal off a rebounded shot by Danielle Norris. Emily Kluga and Heather Johnson combined for the shutout in goal.

Boys U14

Raptors 3, Torrington 1 – Ralph Sergiovanni, George Zaruba and Kyle Kromberg scored a goal apiece to lead the Raptors to the win. The midfield was controlled by Chris McCann, Casey Tenney, and Eric Keogler. Ben Mahoney anchored the defense with great support from Ben Miles and Andy Lapple.

Boys U13

Danbury 6, Strikers 2 – Rockwell Anyoha and Kyle Moore scored the goals, but the Strikers fell to Danbury. Offensive pressure was applied by Daniel Hufziger and George Delia. Ryan Pasko and Kyle Wildman played well.

Girls U13

Roadrunners 2, New Milford 1 – Emma Kingsley scored the game winner in the final minute off an assist from Kaitlin Brophy. Shannon Paproski scored the first goal off a corner kick by KellyAnne Brophy. Casey Rutter was outstanding in goal. Kelly O’Connor, Sarah Attanasio and Alex Israel played great on defense shutting down the much bigger New Milford offense.

Roadrunners 4, Brookfield 1 – Shannon Paproski scored two goals, including a header off a corner kick by KellyAnne Brophy, to lead the ‘Runners to the win. KellyAnne and Kaitlin Brophy had the other goals. Midfielders Sarah Murtha, Kristen Stoller, and Meagan Gonzalez controlled the play.

Girls U12

Glastonbury-Hartwell Tournament

Power 2, Glastonbury 0 – Kelley Gaston and Ale Fuentes each had a goal and an assist in the game to lead the Power. Jessica Jowdy and Cristina Caporale played well in the midfield as Leah Barrett, Brooke Leifels, Cristina Naldini, and Abbie Keough played well at defense.

Power 5, Darien 0 – Ale Fuentes had a pair of goals while Nora Murphy, Maddy Keane, and Jessica Jowdy each added one to lift the Power. Assists came from Kelley Gaston, Nicole Davis, and Meaghan Carney. Jessica Jowdy, Ali Korchman and Cristina Naldini played well at midfield.

Power 5, Westport 0 – Nora Murphy had two goals as Kelley Gaston, Nicole Davis and Maddy Keane each added one to lead the Power to another win. Ale Fuentes and Kelley Gaston had assists. Celeste Cheung, Cassie Fallon, and Katherine Scott played solid defense.

Power 1, Barrington, Massachusetts 0 – A second half goal by Molly Mahony off an assist from Ale Fuentes lifted the Power to the tournament championship. Ali Korchman, Meaghan Carney, Hannah Maret and Maddy Keane played impressive midfield. Kendall Svanda earned the shut out with several key saves.

Girls U11

Flash 9, Torrington 0 – Melissa Buccino, Bridget Power, Christy Papaj, Christina Gould and Stephanie Roman scored two goals apiece and Meaghan Harkins added a solo to lead the Flash.

Boys U11

Cobras 6, Danbury 0 – Connor Quinn scored two goals, the second on a cross from Stephen Conway, to lead the Cobras to the win Nick Barreto, Danny Bittman, Sean Elliot and Patrick Thornberg each added a goal. Chris Erikson provided an assist. Newtown’s defense was formidable, anchored by the play of Noah Sock, Matt Rahtelli, Andy Kelley and Robert Willis in goal.


Girls U14

Hyper Hippos 2, Turf Trashers 1 – Mara Scallon and Katie Howell scored and Rebecca Silviera and Lauren Pettinelli played well in goal for the Hyper Hippos. For the Turf Trashers, Dana Bowers scored as Emily Lones, Kyra Murray and Anna Chamiec-Pauneto all played excellent games in the field.

Turf Trashers 1, The Unknown 0 – Katelyn Connolly scored off a rebound following a fabulous save on a penalty kick for the game’s only goal. Alex Fogelburg, Rachel Rocles and Kate Bloxem had great games. For The Unknown, Abby Blakeman and Emily Rowe were strong in the net while Audra Sarna, Kayla O’Leary and Danielle Capoziello played very well.

Boys U14

The Clash 4, Beverly Hillbillies 2 – Steven Forgione scored a goal and assisted on two others and Austin Jones added a goal and an assist to lead The Clash. Ryan Ames also scored as Zach Bennett was solid on D. For the Hillbillies, Jake Tolson and Josh Branchflower provided strong goal play, keeping the match close . JD Knapp and David Hajzer were both very active on defense.

Danbury 2, Wildfire 1 – Mike Terlaga tallied on a penalty for the Wild Fire in a hard-fought game that went down to the wire. Michael Czarnecki and Robbie Beier were tough in goal. Paolo Moscovici and Tommy Cassin played well, and Peter Kerns was key at midfield before leaving the game with an injury.

Boys U10

Power Pigs 5, Pulverizing Peanuts 0 – Tyler Ruefenacht scored two goals as Taylor Rutter, Ian Lew and Austin Isola scored one goal each to lead the Pigs to the win. Justin Germak played well on D. For the Peanuts, Henry Summ, Garrett Cebry, Nolan Cosgrove and Michal Marcinek played well.

Girls U8

All Stars 3, Huskies 3 – Maren Brady scored two goals and Emily Charash one to lead the All Stars. Emily Jerris and Maddie Bridges were aggressive on defense.

Racing Stripes 4, Cheetah Champions 2 – Emily Riley scored four goals to power the Stripes. Christina Debartolomeo played great in goal as Tonya Tucker was outstanding on offense and Alexis Tucker played great defense. For the Cheetahs, Courtney Datin and Amanda Donovan played great in the goal while Kimberly Brello and Cassie Fischer each scored a goal.

Ball Hogs 1, Soccerstars 0 – Caitlin Filiato scored the only goal of the game to lift the Ball Hogs. Kaylie Daniels and Tess Stofko were strong on offense as Jamie Calandro and Victoria Teixeira were a force on defense. For the ‘Stars, Caitlin Clark, Anna Pinckney and Katie Reilly all worked well together on offense as Megan Weber anchored the D.

Lady Hawks 8, Golden Stars 4 – Meg Korchman and Kailee Dunnigan scored three goals apiece to power the Hawks. Alana Murray and Madeleine Strokis each added a goal as Ashley Marks and Haley Ryan had great games. For the Stars, Katie Bedell and Emma Burns each scored twice and Amanda Martinez provided an assist. Olivia Holman, Hannah Logan and Sarah Lampel had great games.

Boys U8

Vikings 6, Great Sharks 3 – Matt Maturo scored three goals as the Vikings rallied back from a 3-0 deficit to win. Sawyer Conrad, Nick Cirone and John Carlson also scored. For the Sharks, Chris Healey, Kaj Djonne and Colin Villamana scored first-half goals to give their team the early lead. Goaltender Korey Brodsky played well.

Bulldogs 3, Wizards 0 – Clay Gattey scored three times to lift the ‘Dogs to the win. Michael Cook played well on defense, Ryan King registered an assist and Danny Romeo played well. For the Wizards, Brandon Gonzalez, Peter Kohlsaat and Andrei Kalinowski had solid games.

Blue Dragons 4, Strikers 2 – Bryce Mather, Carter Nordgren, Josh Houle and Erik von Schleseugen scored one goal each to lead the Blue Dragons to the win. Zachary Weiland played outstanding defense. Albert Dean and Spencer Tolson each scored one goal for the Strikers. Christian Morloch was awesome on defense and halfback and Jacob Branchflower was great in goal.
