The Choose Love Book Club is a free virtual book discussion held the last Wednesday of each month featuring books that make readers think, open up a new way of seeing things, and make an impact.

The group is led by Scarlett Lewis, founder of the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement, and members of the Choose Love team, including Pamela Brown, Choose Love’s editorial and marketing specialist; Alexis Koukos, Brown’s daughter, who is also Choose Love’s COO; and others.

It offers a positive way to connect, learn, share, and come together in “choosing love” and being part of a new community of readers.

This month’s selection is Why Will No One Play with Me? by the noted parenting expert Caroline Maguire, who will join the discussion via Zoom.

The program is planned for Wednesday, May 26, from 7 to 8 pm.

Published in October 2019, Why Will No One Play With Me? is a practical guide for parents, educators, and clinicians, offering information to help any child or teen overcome chronic social exclusion or disruption that targets specific social skills deficits. It is the recipient of the Mom’s Choice Award, Parenting & Family’s 2020 Best Book Award, and BookAuthority’s Best ADHD Books of All Time.

Registration is requested and can be done at chooselovemovement.org/choose-love-book-club.

The Choose Love Book Club will continue this month with a groundbreaking book by Caroline Maguire that has reportedly helped thousands of children struggling with social skills to make friends, find acceptance, and have a happy childhood.

Scarlett Lewis was one of the parents who lost a child in the Sandy Hook School Shooting. Tragic doesn’t begin to define it. In Jan 2015 Scarlett was one of 2 parents who sued our town and the BOE claiming that there was inadequate security at the school. In June 2016 They offered to settle for 5.5 million dollars!
In May2018 a judge dismissed the law suit. They appealed and in Oct 2019 they lost the appeal I have difficulty understanding her action to sue and at the same time promote ‘choose love’ It doesn’t make sense. Where was the love for her town and neighbors that grieved with her, that supported her?
