Occupation: I currently work as assistant art director at Moffly Media, which produces local publications such as Greenwich Magazine, Westport Magazine, Stamford Magazine, and athome Magazine. In March of this year, I also launched my own digital marketing business running Facebook and Instagram ads for local brick and mortars, taylorstroili.com.

Family: I currently live in Newtown with my parents, Lori and John Stroili, and younger siblings, Heather (19) and Tyler (19).

Pets: I have a 13 year-old yellow lab named Jessie.

How long have you lived in Newtown? I moved to Newtown when I was 13, so about 11 years.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love checking out new restaurants in and around town. I’m a big fan of supporting local businesses and my work with the magazines has also allowed the opportunity to explore more of Fairfield County’s best spots.

What is your favorite book? My favorite book is probably 101 Essays That Will Change the Way You Think by Brianna Wiest.

What is your favorite travel destination? Italy! I first visited when I was 16 and then studied abroad there for five months during my junior year of college. Capri, Florence, and Bologna are probably my three favorite places to visit.

What is the best part about Newtown? I love our up-and-coming nightlife. I think the new restaurants and breweries have been a great addition to the community.

What organizations are you part of in Newtown? In the past I’ve been involved with a couple of in-person organizations such as the Newtown Hikers and the Newtown Parks and Rec volleyball team. I have also either volunteered or run in the annual Turkey Trot every year since it first started. Now, I am mostly involved with Facebook groups like the Newtown Shopping and Newtown CT Small Businesses groups.

What has been the greatest influence in your life? I think my time abroad in Italy has been the greatest influence of my life. I love the Italians’ passion for everyday life, not to mention the incredible food, and my ever-growing love for cappuccinos and wine. I have also studied the Italian language for eight years and have family in northern Italy that I get to speak with often.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would you choose and why? Brianna Wiest. She is by far my favorite author and has so much insight into uncovering your highest potential. I think her writing speaks to anyone at any stage in life but is especially helpful for people in their 20s “still trying to figure it all out.” Although her writing answers many of them, I still have questions I’d like to ask and would love to get to know her.

Who is your favorite musical artist? It’s hard to choose, but I think I’d have to say H.E.R. I love the lyrics and overall style of her songs, not to mention she’s an amazing, super talented musician.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? I’ve been told that you should live your life based on how it feels, not by how you think it looks.

What is something you cannot live without? Good food and good company!

What is your proudest accomplishment? I am most proud of launching my own marketing agency and helping local businesses.
