Newtown Youth & Family Services (NYFS) postponed its 2022 Independent Living Day ahead of last weekend’s expected weather. Openings are still available for the new date — Saturday, May 14 — when crews help the residents of Nunnawauk Meadows with spring projects.

Volunteers of all ages are invited to join or create a work crew to help with spreading mulch, planting flowers, washing windows, cleaning refrigerators, and other household chores.

Reservations are preferred, but NYFS Youth Coordinator Madison McColl said anyone who shows up on Saturday will be put to work.

Volunteers will be asked to fill out a volunteer form.

Check-in and breakfast will begin at 8:30 am at the Nunnawauk Meadows Community Building, 3 Nunnawauk Road. Work will begin at 9 and will be completed by 11:30.

For additional information contact McColl at 203-426-4533 or mmccoll@newtownyouthandfamilyservices.org.

Volunteers of all ages are invited to join or create a work crew to help with a variety of outdoor and household chores for just a few hours Saturday morning.
