Marie Teresa Meola

Marie Teresa (Nuzzi) Meola, 78, of Brewster, N.Y., died May 26, in Danbury. She was born February 24, 1934, in White Plains, N.Y., daughter of Lillian (Capasso) and Joseph Nuzzi.

Besides her husband Thomas, Mrs Meola is survived by her daughter Donna Budd, and her husband Brian, of Sandy Hook; her son Louis Meola, and his wife Brenda, of Danbury; a sister Margaret; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Gloria.

On May 9, 1959, she married Thomas Meola in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale, N.Y. They began their lives together and started their family in Yonkers, N.Y. before moving to Brewster, 45 years ago. They became members of St Lawrence O’Toole Church.

Mrs Meola was an avid bowler and looked forward to her morning league where she continued to be the secretary, even after she stopped bowling. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Lloyd Lumber Co., then Dill’s Best in Brewster, before she retired.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 29. Internment was in St Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
