The public is invited to a free Bike & Fire Safety Seminar, to be hosted by Extreme Fitness Martial Arts, on Sunday, June 17, from 2 to 4 pm.

The event will cover bike and fire safety, with local experts participating.

With the return of warm weather, children will be out on their bicycles. Newtown Police Office Leonard Penna will discuss reflectors, helmets, times to ride, and overall bike safety.

Knowing what to do in a fire emergency can save lives. Parents and children will learn about smoke detectors, safely exiting a home during a fire, and overall fire saftey from members of Botsford Fire Rescue.

In addition, children will have the change to participate in a firefighter's obstacle course, including climbing over and in a police car and fire truck.
