Department of Public Health Code Now Online

HARTFORD — The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) announced that the second generation of the Connecticut Public Health Code has been published and is available on the DPH website. The code is a compendium of state regulations that govern the public’s health.

Public Health Code 2000 was the first online version of the state public health regulations. The new generation code is now searchable in a user-friendly format that enables the interested party to find regulations by title or number, and is designed to be easily downloadable, saved, viewed, and printed. In addition, there is a section containing downloadable forms and manuals pertaining to public health issues. Individuals may also request a hard copy of the Public Health Code by submitting requests via email directly from the website.

“The Public Health Code is a great resource for the public health community and the general public, and was traditionally available only in hard copy,” noted DPH Commissioner Joxel Garcia, MD. “We have made a concerted effort to make the Public Health Code user-friendly and broadly accessible to the public. The department is proud to announce this second generation of the Connecticut Public Health Code,” stated Dr Garcia.

A “feedback” section has been added to ensure the continued enhancement of this online database. Comments and feedback from the public are welcome and encouraged.

The updated Public Health Code is located on the Department of Public Health website at www.dph.state.ct.us.
