John B.               Grimardi

John B. Grimardi, 92, formerly of Chicago, Ill., died June 27 in Ashlar of Newtown.

He was born in Chicago, August 7, 1909, son of the late Joseph and Carmella (Genoa) Grimardi. He has resided in Newtown the past few years to be near his family.

In his early years, he was a remarkable and accomplished musician who played with the big bands throughout the United States. He worked and socialized with many well-known entertainers and celebrities. He was honored by the United States for entertaining the Armed Forces in the Far East Command during the Korean War, with a certificate of appreciation.

In his later years, he was a successful entrepreneur and businessman in the Chicago area.

He is survived by his former wife and good friend, Susan Gabert; four children, Marianne Muskus, Joseph Grimardi, Carmelle Rintleman, and Lisa Parker; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on June 28 at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
