A Great Start For The Sunday Cinema Series

To the Editor:

Last Sunday at the Edmond Town Hall, I was so pleased to welcome enthusiastic audiences who turned out for Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the first film in this year’s Sunday Cinema Series. As the host of these screenings, I look forward to greeting those who attend every show, for many have become friends, and newcomers are friends I just haven’t met yet.  Not only were the shows well-attended, but many were willing to play along to earn “fabulous prizes” by quoting their favorite lines and French taunts, as well as demonstrating the proper way to “ride horseback” like a Monty Python knight.

It was so gratifying to see that our audiences ranged in age from 8 to 80 (and maybe beyond), with several coming from Thomaston, Washington, Fairfield, and even Bedford, NY.  I want to thank those who helped spread the word to their more distant friends by sharing our Sunday Cinema Series Facebook page and our NCAC Arts Newsletter; your support is invaluable.  I hope word will spread even farther to bring in fans of Casablanca on July 19th.

On behalf of the NCAC, I appreciate the generous support of our sponsors, Filet and The Hook restaurants, who made it possible to lease the movie, and to UK Gourmet, whose donation augmented the traditional concessions with authentic English treats.  My thanks also to Talia Hankin and Jerusha Wright for their capable assistance in selling those treats.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Rogers
