First Aid Guide Available

BRIDGEPORT — Bridgeport Hospital is offering a free First Aid Guide with information on a variety of injuries, including burns, cuts, and broken bones. For a copy, call 203-384-4441.

The guide, an 11- by 17-inch, double-sided poster, can easily be hung on a wall or door for fast, convenient access. It includes information on bleeding, shock, chest pain, and poisoning, instructions for CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver, and guidelines on calling 911 for emergency assistance.

“Calling 911 is the thing to do for any life-threatening condition,” Dr Werdmann said. “The First Aid Guide provides important information on what to do before the ambulance arrives, and what you do in those few minutes can easily mean the difference between life and death.”
