Richard K. Brady

Richard K. Brady, 63, of Newtown, the husband of Amy (Johnson) Brady, died on Saturday evening, July 2, 2022, at Danbury Hospital.

Rick was born in Greenwich Hospital, on December 2, 1958, the son of Richard B. and Jean (Johnston) Brady. He was raised in Stamford, where he attended Stamford schools, and graduated from the J.M. Wright Technical School of Stamford.

A tool and die maker, also known as a model maker, Rick was first employed with Moore Tool Company. In subsequent years, he was associated with Textron Lycoming, Bic, and US Surgical, which became Medtronic, Inc.

A resident of the area for the past forty-seven years coming from Stamford, Rick was a former member of the New Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department and a current member of the Botsford Fire Rescue, where he served as a past chief. He was a founding member of the Newtown Underwater Search and Rescue Team and a member of the Stepney Baptist Church of Monroe, where he served as a Deacon and was active in Music Ministry.

In addition to his wife of twenty-nine years, Rick is survived by a son, William; daughter, Rebekah; sisters, Diane Brady and Deborah Carlson; two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 10:30 am in the Stepney Baptist Church, 423 Main Street, Monroe, Conn., with Pastor Kevin Merritt officiating.

Interment followed in the Newtown Village Cemetery, Newtown, Conn.

Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.
