FAITH Food Pantry will be closed next week due to paving scheduled at St Rose of Lima Church.

The nonecumenical food pantry, located in its own building on the campus of the Catholic church at 46 Church Hill Road, will be closed for its regular sessions Tuesday morning, July 16, or Thursday evening, July 18.

Those who have food emergencies that cannot wait until Tuesday, July 23, are encouraged to call 203-837-0816.

The food pantry offers food and toiletries to Newtown residents, who can visit once each month. Proof of residency, which can be done with a valid driver’s license and mail with a resident’s address, is all that is required; FAITH does not ask for proof of need.

The pantry is regularly open on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 am, and Thursday evenings from 6 to 7:30. Donations are also accepted during those hours. The pantry is scheduled to be open tonight on its regular schedule.

Call the phone number above or visit newtownfoodpantry.org for additional information.

Don't let its acronym or location fool you: FAITH Food Pantry is open to all Newtown residents, regardless of religious affiliation. Volunteers from the nonecumenical pantry will be outside Stop & Shop in Sand Hill Plaza on Saturday, collecting donations for those who need a hand putting food on the table.
