The Newtown Torpedoes raised their summer record to an impressive 6-1 recently with a hearty 311-91 victory over Danbury.

Kevin Cahalane, swimming in the 11 and 12 boys age group, was a triple winner for the Torpedoes, taking first in the freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.

There were also several double winners for the Torpedoes - including Alex Kron (8 and under boys), Jackie Isabella (8 and under girls), Jimmy Gaston (9 and 10 boys), Maggie Hemingway (9 and 10 girls), Abby Atkinson (11 and 12 girls), and Matt Peyton (15 and 16 boys).

The teamis sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department and is coached by several standout high school swimmers.
