Business background: Ray Arabia: We opened Natural Pet Outlet in Bridgeport in 2010 and opened our Monroe location three weeks ago. The landlord here in Monroe is one of our customers and felt we would be a great fit for the community. This new location is 25 percent larger than our Bridgeport location.

Business focus: Our tagline is “Natural foods at discount prices.” We wholesale a lot of overstock to companies, and we also sell directly to consumers.

We primarily have products for dogs and cats, but we also have products for wild birds, bees/pollinators, and chickens.

We also have three dog baths for self-serve washing, nail clipping on Wednesday nights from 3 to 7 pm, and vet vaccinations for dogs and cats once a month. This month, the vet clinic is August 18, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.

Important to know: Natural Pet Outlet offers ten percent off for teachers, military, police officers, and firefighters [with the exclusion of overstock and clearance items].

Also, if you buy 12 bags of dog or cat food, you get the 13th free.

Future events: Our grand opening will be in mid-October.

Hours: Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 7 pm; Saturday and Sunday, from 9 am to 6 pm.
