UPDATE: A report below involving Kasdyn Click was modified on March 3, 2023 to indicate all related charges were dismissed.

Three Charges

Newtown police responded to a complaint at Ferris Acres Creamery of an individual taking keys out of a truck and throwing them into a swampy field. No date or time of the incident was noted in the summary released by Newtown PD.

Upon investigation and with the help of Naugatuck Police Department, police were able to identify and locate Kasdyn Click, no age given, of Prospect.

Click was issued a misdemeanor summons for Breach of Peace, Larceny-6th, and Criminal Mischief and released on a promise to appear in court on August 12, 2020.

On March 3, 2023, Click produced court documentation indicating all three of the above charges were dismissed.

Keys Found

A set of keys was located on Hattertown Road in the area of Eden Hill Road, and turned in to Newtown Police for safekeeping.

Following Too Close

A 2019 Nissan Rogue S operated by Ashley A. Hemson, 33, of Westport, was traveling south on Mt Pleasant Road around 4:12 pm Monday, August 3.

Hemson told police the vehicle in front of her stopped suddenly because the vehicle in front of that one was turning. Hemson applied her brakes and stopped.

A 2008 Toyota Corolla CE/LE/S operated by Diana F. Sossei, 37, of Bethel, was also traveling south on Mt Pleasant Road, behind Hemson. Sossei stated she saw the Rogue stop suddenly but she was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of that vehicle.

The Corolla sustained minor front bumper damage. The Rogue sustained minor rear bumper damage. Both vehicles were driven away from the scene.

Sossei was issued a verbal warning for Following Too Close.

Improper Passing

A Mitsubishi Fuso FG8 being operated by John M. Chmielewski, 42, of Shelton, was traveling north on Edmond Road at 3:15 pm Tuesday, July 28, directly ahead of a 2010 Subaru Forester 2.5X being operated by Anna Bova, 47, of Newtown. The weather was clear and the roadway surface was dry, the police report notes.

Bova initiated a left turn to enter the driveway of 3 Edmond Road. While turning left, the Mitsubishi was hit by the Subaru, which was passing the Mitsubishi on its left side.

Bova told police she observed the Mitsubishi move to the right while traveling, and believed the vehicle was pulling over to the side of the road.

Bova reported she moved her vehicle to the left to pass the Mitsubishi, which then started a left turn. Bova told police that while attempting to pass the Mitsubishi, her vehicle and the Mitsubishi collided. Bova told police she did not notice a left turn signal on the Mitsubishi.

Chmielewski reported his left turn signal was activated.

There were no injuries. Neither vehicle needed to be towed.

Bova received a verbal warning for Improper Passing.

Protective Order Violation

At approximately 9:15 pm, Monday, July 27, Joshua Adams, 29, of Bridgeport, turned himself in at the Newtown police department on an active family violence warrant.

The warrant stemmed from an incident on July 1.

Adams was processed and charged with Violation of Protective Order. He was given a date of July 28 at Danbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 appearance bond.

Flagpole Collision

Edmund Breitling, 64, of Newtown, was operating a 2008 Ford 500 SE AWD south on Main Street around 3:56 pm Sunday, July 26. At the same time Nataliya Serdynski, 39, of New Canaan, was operating a 2017 Honda CR-V EX, traveling west on Church Hill Road. The front of the Honda struck the driver side of the Ford.

There were no injuries reported. Airbags did not deploy on either vehicle and both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the police report.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Serdynski was given a verbal warning to Failure To Grant Right of Way from A Stop Sign.
