To the Editor:

Once again, The Young Engineers Summer Program and Newtown Continuing Education would like to thank Chief Chris Ward and the amazing crew from Newtown Hook and Ladder. For the fifth year in a row, they have volunteered their time to help our Young Engineers with their egg drop projects. Under the guidance of Rick Lowry, our young engineers created cushioned crates to encapsulate a raw egg, which is dropped from a height, hopefully without breaking the enclosed egg.

Thank you to Chief Engineer Michael Aurelia and First Lieutenant Dave White for your time climbing and dropping our egg contraptions, much to the delight of our young engineers. Only one egg was lost in the experiment.
