LABOR DAY

45th Annual Newtown Labor Day Parade, steps off at 10 am from Soldiers & Sailors Monument, Main Street at Hanover Road, annual event will be led by Grand Marshal Pat Barkman, marching bands, fire departments, local groups and others will follow traditional parade route down Main Street, turning onto Glover Avenue, then across Queen Street.

Sandy Hook Organic Farmers’ Market, 2–6 pm, behind St John’s Episcopal Church, 3 Washington Avenue, organic farmers, bakers, artists, jewelers, weavers and other vendors, children’s activities, market runs weekly through October 3; 270-1820.

Mozart and commemorate fifth anniversary of 9/11 events, soloists to include organist Joseph Jacovino, vocalists Sharon Goodkowsky and Bob Boncoddo, performance also offered Monday evening in Waterbury; 426-1014.
