Army Veteran

Luigi C. Bianco, 85, of Ridgefield, formerly of New Canaan, husband of Pauline (Paris) Bianco and the late Ann (Darling) Bianco, died August 30, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr Bianco was born in New Canaan, May 29, 1924, son of Teresa (DeCotis) and Carlo Bianco.

In addition to his wife Pauline, he is survived by 11 children, including Mary Potter of Newtown; a brother; three sisters; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and great friends.

A World War II US Army veteran, he served as a medic in Company B, 4th Medical Battalion through the European Campaign. After his military service, he returned to New Canaan where he worked at Karl Chevrolet for 45 years prior to his retirement.

Mr Bianco was a member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus of New Canaan, a former member of St Aloysius Church and a present member of St Mary’s Catholic Church of Ridgefield. He enjoyed woodworking, travel, reading, and gardening.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated September 2. Burial followed in Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan.
