Grand Marshals Say Thanks

To the Editor:

We would like to thank the Labor Day Parade Committee for selecting us as grand marshals and the people of Newtown for giving us such a warm reception on Monday, despite the weather. It was a very special day for us and for Newtown Youth Services.

Many thanks to our NYS marchers, Jonathan Aragones and 4H members for the beautiful sunflowers, Joy Kopesky for getting us organized, Sable and Alex Stevens for their great work on our signs, Jim Loring for chauffeuring, and Clark Hills for the use of his snazzy convertible.

What we felt was already such an honor became even more wonderful for us when we found out the names of the women who proceeded us as grand marshals. To be placed in their company is truly humbling.

On behalf on Newtown Youth Services we thank you for acknowledging the efforts of our agency. We had a wonderful time!
