Robert John Lucas, age 76, of 132 Old Post Road #4, Millerton, N.Y., died August 31, 2019, at Sharon Hospital.

Robert was born February 23, 1943, in Bridgeport, the son of the late Emil and Elenore (Costigan) Lucas formerly of Newtown. He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964 at McGuire Air Force Base, N.J. During his service years, he performed in various shows at McGuire AFB and Fort Dix AFB, N.J., and was the winner of the MATS talent contest in April 1963. Robert was a wonderful singer in his younger years and an avid accordion player.

Bob was a truck driver for many years and loved to be on the open road. He was well-known by his CB handle “Pink Panther.” In his later years, he enjoyed gardening and working on a local farm where he lived.

He is survived by his children, Pamela Howard of Smithfield, N.C.; Doreen McManus and her husband, Tim, of Brookfield; Robert John Paul Lucas of Hilton Head, S.C.; Robert John Lucas II of Cornwall, Conn; Shawn Lucas of Millerton, N.Y.; Matthew Lucas of St Louis, Mo.; Amanda Milton of Sharon, Conn.; and Alexis Peterson and her husband, Lance, of Sharon, Conn.

He is also survived by his brothers, John Lucas and his wife, Deborah, of Brookfield and Wayne Lucas of Benton, Tenn.; and his sisters, Linda Clewley and her husband, Rob, of Garland, Maine, and Kate Stiles and her husband, Jeff, of Benton, Tenn.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Jonathan Howard and his wife, Jessica, James Oliver, Shawn Gardner, Ethan Gardner, Jenna McManus, Nick Lucas, Spencer, Ian, Wesley, and Caleb Lucas, Mackenzie, Savannah, and Jayden Milton, and Oliver and Eivin Peterson; a great-grandson, Kyle Lucas Howard; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also survived by his former wives, Janice Howard of Brookfield and Deborah Lucas of St Louis, Mo.

He was also predeceased by a former wife, Vivian Hultgren, and long time friend, Holly Bryer.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at St Paul’s Church on October 19 at 11:30 am, 174 Whisconier Road, Brookfield.
