Local nonprofit organization LOF Adaptive Skiers will kick off the 22-Mile Waterski Marathon on Lake Zoar for the Disabled on Saturday, September 12, at 62 Housatonic Drive, Sandy Hook, at 8 am. Boats will tow skiers down 11 miles with a police escort by LZA to the Zoar Beach, Route 34, Monroe, by the Stevenson Dam.

There will be a 30-minute break to refuel. Following the 11-mile return to the Shepaug Dam, all skiers will land again at 62 Housatonic Drive, where they will be awarded special event T-shirts and lunch.

The skiers participating are young and old, able-bodied and disabled, and have sponsors to support their 22-mile “run.”
