‘Newtown Bee’ Planning Candidates Meet & Greet At Reverie

Text Size

With no first selectman competition this year as incumbent Dan Rosenthal is running for Newtown’s top elected seat unopposed, The Newtown Bee is departing from holding its traditional candidates forum at Edmond Town Hall.

Instead, this election season will find The Newtown Bee hosting a more informal gathering of invited candidates from the local Republican and Democratic slates in a setting a bit more conducive to talking politics face-to-face: Reverie Brewing Company.

The Newtown Bee’s 2019 “Candidates Meet & Greet at Reverie” is set for Tuesday, October 8, from 6 to 8 pm, at the craft brewery and pub, 57B Church Hill Road, adjacent to the railroad trestle.

With each incumbent and political newcomer invited, the newspaper and its staff are hoping residents will turn out to enjoy some light munchies and partake in the latest offerings from the Reverie crew.Reservations are not required, and there is no charge to stop in to meet the candidates.

Each candidate will be introduced and will have plenty of time to meet and talk with residents one-on-one about why they hope to serve the community as an elected official.

The Newtown Bee will provide complimentary food, and attendees can take advantage of any beverages Reverie has to offer at market price.
