Occupation: I am currently providing publicity support to The Sherman Players and a few others among the myriad of great community theaters here in our area. It keeps me happy, and busy, while I figure what my post-pandemic career will be.

Family: My wife Laurie and I have been together for 27 years. We have an insanely talented daughter, Jerusha, who I’m always inspired by and in awe of.

Pets: We have two cats, Leeloo and Cosima. We have a tradition of naming our pets with science fiction references (Mos Eisley, Naboo, Lister, and Trillian).

How long have you lived in Newtown? I have lived in Newtown since 1991.

What do you like to do in your free time? A good chunk of my free time is devoted to acting in or supporting community theater. When not, I spend a lot of time listening to music, podcasts, and the occasional audiobook.

What is your favorite book? My current favorite is Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, of which I’ll be directing a stage adaptation from December 2 to 17 at The Sherman Playhouse.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? My Dad. An artist through and through.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would you choose? George Carlin, whose comedy shaped my sense of humor, for what that’s worth.

Who is your favorite musical artist? That is a tough one, but if I had to choose, it would be Chick Corea. Growing up with the variety of solo albums and groups he’s led or was part of over the years always lifts my spirits up.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? Don’t forget to make room to feed your spirit.

What is your favorite movie? My all time favorite film is The Princess Bride. It’s instantly quotable. It can be playing on cable at any point and I’ll watch it through to the end.

If you could travel to the past or future, which would you choose? Despite the historical circumstances, I would visit Philadelphia in 1776 and bear witness to the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence. Just to observe the moment of change amongst the citizens, for better or worse, would be unique.

What is something you cannot live without? Bacon. Never enough bacon.

What is your proudest accomplishment? Playing the D’Ysquith family in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder in 2019.

What is a meal/recipe your family has passed down to you? Making the perfect gin and tonic.

What would you like The Newtown Bee to cover in the future? I’d love for The Bee to cover our diverse music scene more often. We have some talented players all over the area who entertain and inspire in restaurants/clubs, community orchestras, colleges/universities, and theater.
