Featuring Furniture From The Past That One Chooses To Live With In The Future

WITH SEVEN CUTS  NO CUTLINES

HARTFORD, CONN. — As the tradition continues, Forbes and Turner’s Fall Hartford Antiques Show will open on October 20 at the Connecticut Expo Center at 265 Rev. Moody Overpass, just minutes from downtown Hartford and Bradley International Airport.

An invitation is extended to antiques collectors and fellow antiques dealers to come to the show and experience what Antiques and The Arts Weekly meant when it said, “this show remains a uniquely unpretentious display of fine, early American furniture.” The publication also said, “hands-down the nation’s favorite showcase for early American furniture.”

The Hartford shows have come to be known as the shows unlike any others because they feature only pre-1840 American furniture, rare and interesting smalls and appropriate decorative accessories.

Many of the pieces featured will be in as near to their original condition and appearance as age will allow. Appreciating the fine craftsmanship of the rare and finest examples of early American antiques shown at Hartford is worth the trip.  This year’s show will feature furniture and accessories Made In Connecticut and merchandise will be labeled with a Made In Connecticut placard.

Join us on Saturday, October 20, from 10 am to 5 pm, or Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm. The Fall Hartford Antiques Show will have booth chats starting at 11 am on Sunday. Art Green, of Art and Kathy Green, will discuss, “It’s Not Just Color: Types and Techniques in Early American Glass.” Arthur Liverant, of Liverant and Son will begin his booth chat at 11:45. He will speak on, “A Facet of Connecticut Furniture.”

Admission is $10 and includes readmission on Sunday and booth chats. Parking is free at the Expo Center. Café hours are the same as the show hours.
