The Newtown High School Marching Band & Guard took to the field Saturday, September 26, for its first performance of the 2020-21 season.

The performance was recorded for submission to the USBands organization as part of the V-USBands competition season.

The ensemble, which includes woodwinds, horns, drumline, front ensemble, and color guard, performed the first two movements of its show, “The Incredible Nighthawks,” based on music from the movie The Incredibles.

NHS Band Director Kurt Eckhardt said, “Despite the restrictions on rehearsal time and method imposed by the coronavirus, the kids are doing an ‘Incredible’ job! If we get to complete our season with no further unforeseen limitations, this will be an immensely fun show to watch and one that Newtown will be proud of.”
