Occupation: I am general dentist at the Dental Associates of Connecticut and graduated from Tufts University, Boston. I recently joined the United States Army Reserve as captain in the Medical Corps to serve the community. Previously, I was a dentist in Bordeaux, the south of France.

Family: My husband, Armel, and I have three girls. Matiya, age 12, is a talent violinist and is concert master this year at the Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra and member of a local cross-country team. Alexiane, age 9, my pescatarian daughter, loves animals; she enjoys horseback riding and plays violin. Camille, our 5-year-old, splits time between violin, piano, and learning swimming. The three girls are in Newtown school system.

How long have you lived in Newtown? We have lived in Newtown for seven years. We were looking for a place to call home and we fell in love with this quaint little town nestled in Fairfield County and an hour away from Manhattan. We love New England and we often take short trips to Newport, R.I.; Portland, Maine; Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, etc. Prior to Newtown, I lived in Philadelphia, Penn.; St Louis, Mo.; and Bordeaux, France.

What do you like to do in your free time? I like to spend time with my husband and my three beautiful girls. I enjoy traveling, hiking, swimming, boxing, and spending time on Candlewood Lake on our family boat.

What is your favorite book? Educated by Tara Westover, an amazing memoir that shined a spotlight on the importance of women’s education and independence. Tara follows her transformative journey from rural Idaho to the PhD program at Cambridge University.

What is your favorite travel destination? France. I obtained my first dental degree from University Victor Segalen of Bordeaux. I love the culinary experience, warmth of people, and lovely vineyards in the south of France. My dad and sisters live in Paris and it is one of my favorite places to wind down every year with my girls.

What is the best part about Newtown? The restaurants. They are quaint and welcoming.

What organizations are you part of in Newtown? My husband and I support the 12.14 Foundation in Newtown. It is a beautiful organization teaching grit and resiliency to kids. Outside of Newtown, I supported the Young Life in Danbury, an organization helping young girls with babies, and SOS Enfants, which helps kids and orphans in Africa.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? My dad, who lives today in Paris, France. He is an entrepreneur who built a transportation company in Cameroon, Africa, from nothing. He taught me hard work, respect, and family values. I admire him so much.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would you choose and why? My husband, Armel. I am amazed by his ability to juggle between multiple tasks: his work at the highest level at a global bank, including lots of traveling; spending time with the girls while being an active member of the community in Newtown; as well as contributing in several nonprofit organizations in Newtown and outside the country.

Who is your favorite musical artist? Pink. I love her music. She has strong voice, [and is a] determined and independent woman.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? Be yourself, trust God, hold your family together, work hard, and respect people around you.

What is something you cannot live without? My Bible, the Book of Life — the book where I find strength and inspiration. It is the best motivational book.

What is your proudest accomplishment? It is hard to just list one: My family and my girls are my proudest accomplishments, but close second is joining the United States Army Reserve as officer. This has always been my dream.
