To the Editor:

I am writing in support of a wonderful woman and friend, Rebekah Harriman-Stites, running to represent the 106th District here in Newtown. I have known Rebekah for a number of years and she is the definition of passion and hard work. We are entering an era where collaboration, compassion, and a willingness to roll up our sleeves and burn the midnight oil to get the work done is more important than ever before. Rebekah has a proven record that she has these qualities and the skills to get the job done.

As a member of the Board of Education, she spent countless hours fighting to help make our schools some of the best in the state. As a community leader and organizer, she has motivated me and many others to get involved in bettering our town, our home. As a successful entrepreneur and fundraiser, she has helped towns and nonprofits raise millions of dollars to fund much needed programs and services. She knows what is important, and knows how to build the bridges needed to get there.

Finally, I want to highlight one of her most impressive traits: energy. She is basically Vitamin C in human form and she doesn’t turn it off, and anyone who has met her knows it’s because she cares. She cares about doing the right thing and doing right by Newtown and everyone who lives here. We would be lucky to have such a passionate advocate representing us in Hartford. Please join me in my support for voting for Rebekah Harriman-Stites for state representative!
