Letters Of Endorsement

To the Editor:

Amidst all the negative political advertising about which I am personally very sad, I would like to say a positive word about Mark Nielsen, candidate for US Congress in the fifth district. He deserves our votes on Election Day because he will work hard to achieve the federal government focus and reforms we need.

For example, we Connecticut taxpayers get back only 65 cents for every tax dollar we send to Washington. Think about what that means in terms of real cost to us! If a local project is being funded with federal dollars totaling $100,000, we will have had to pay federal taxes of $154,000 in order to have gotten that 65 percent return! No other state in the union pays in so much for so little a return! Mark promises his attention to this important issue for Connecticut taxpayers.

He will also be pro-active in seeking needed, positive reforms in the areas of campaign finance, education, Medicare, and social security. Mark is a man of honor and integrity, who keeps his word. He’s proven as much during his time in service to the people of Connecticut in the State Senate and in its House.

We should “positively” elect Mark Nielsen to the US Congress to represent us here in Connecticut’s 5th District.
