The Nighthawks â now 17-0 â moved up from last weekâs #2 spot after defeating Brookfield in the final regular season game last Thursday, Jonathan Law in the SWC quarterfinals on Saturday, and Joel Barlow in Tuesdayâs semifinal.
Newtown, coached by Brian Neumeyer, plays Brookfield in the SWC championship game Friday afternoon at 4:30 pm at Penders Field in Stratford. NHS has outscored its opponents 81-6 this season. Newtown last won a league title in 1990.
