Jone Karen Sigovich

A Loving And Generous Personality

Jone Karen Sigovich, 65, a longtime resident of Newtown and most recently of Jupiter, Fla., died peacefully, October 29, in her home, with her family by her side, after a courageous yearlong battle with cancer. She was born in Los Angeles.

Ms Sigovich was raised in Tacoma, Wash., and attended the University of Washington before transferring to the University of Connecticut, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English.

She was a very successful realtor, spending her entire 20-year career in Newtown, with Bob Tendler Real Estate. Her warm, engaging, fun-loving personality led to many lifelong friendships developed through her career.

In retirement, her first passion was her grandchildren, Joseph and Dylan, whom she deeply loved and adored. Her second was painting. She became an accomplished artist, leaving behind many works, which display her amazing gift of expression.

Ms Sigovich will most be remembered for her big smile, wonderful personality, and sense of humor. She was an eternal optimist and always the life of the party. Her selfless, giving spirit fostered so much joy in learning about and helping others, with so much enthusiasm and genuine interest. She was a loving mother, wife, and friend, and will be sorely missed by those who knew her.

In addition to her mother, Hazel Asker, Ms Sigovich is survived by her husband, David; sons Michael Sigovich and Craig Sigovich, and his wife Melisa; two grandsons; and siblings Marybeth Heerwald, David Hugh Askren, and Debbie Lomheim.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Thursday, November 10, from 5 to 8 pm.
