Michael F. Castagna, 84, of Newtown, died November 1, in Danbury Hospital. Mr Castagna was born in Germantown, Penn., December 30, 1926, a son of Nancy (Maluasso) and Anthony Castagna. He was the husband of the late Helen (Macri) Castagna.

Mr Castagna grew up in Norwalk and for many years was the owner and operator of Korner Kuts Barber Shop there. In 1978, he moved to Newtown, where he and his wife owned the Botsford Drive-In.

He was a US Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of VFW Post 308 in Newtown.

Mr Castagna is survived by a daughter, Marisa Castagna of Newtown; two sons, Craig Castagna of Simi Valley, Calif. and Michael F. Castagna, Jr, of Palm Coast, Fla.; a brother, Patsy Castagna of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Catherine Chiarolanzo of Texas; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will take place Saturday, November 5, at 1 pm, in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are in care of the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
