Safety First

To the Editor:

I urge all voters in Newtown to support my candidacy for the Police Commission. I am honored to have been endorsed for the position by Bernard McLoughlin, the immediate past chairman of the Board of the Police Commissioners’ Association of Connecticut. My law practice focuses on civil law enforcement representing both crime victims and police officers who have been injured through the fault of others. I have substantial experience in handling matters of police procedure and practice that give me an excellent base of knowledge and perspective on the important aspects of policing. I also run a small business that forces me to practice fiscal responsibility.

Helping insure the safety of our citizens is the most important job of a police commissioner. That safety first goal needs to be accomplished through the smart deployment of resources that recognizes that police services are paid for directly by the taxpayers who demand financial responsibility. In addition to direct experience in police matters, my occupation as a lawyer specializing in this area will reduce the legal bills that the current commission incurs. For all those reasons I would urge you to support me.

If any voter would like to discuss my credentials for the position or my candidacy I can be reached on my cellphone at 203-417-0949. Thank you and please vote on Tuesday, the 8th of November.

Respectfully,

Joel T. Faxon
